January 2015 When lips tightly sealed
It is so disgusting to see the scene on TV where supporters of elect-councilors shouting “banzai (hooray)” with all arms throwing in the air, celebrating their candidates are projected to win the election. If their palms were facing to the audience, such gesture could have been regarded as “total surrender”. “The total surrender” with a big smile in their face? Don’t they have a sense of being ashamed? In such a situation, it should be the time for the elect-councilors to seal their lips tightly in a very serious manner to assume their heavy responsibility. Obviously they were elected by citizens of this country to determine their fate.
▼Soldiers who fought the war betting their lives cheer their triumph and shout “banzai”. I visited the war memorial hall “Shu Yu Kan” located in Yasukuni war shrine in the end of last year. I found a Zero fighter plane in the entrance hall and a kaiten; human torpedo in the main exhibition room. Those soldiers who sacrificed their lives all gave the same look with their lips tightly sealed in “ma-ichi-monji”; one straight line. I recited a poem by Toho that reads, ‘The country is destroyed; yet mountains and rivers remain.” In the path of Japanese risen from the devastated state of loss of WWII and later their spirituality and sovereignty have become a mere façade, we are not supposed to be cheering and dancing madly in Okinawa.
▼The Biblical State of Israel had once divided into North and South states and both states were destroyed at the time Japan began its statehood in 7th BC. Paul prophesized in his epistle that the state of Israel shall rise again.
▼(ヨセフ・トルンペルドール), a Jewish prisoner of War, brought to Japan during the Russo‐Japanese War (1904‐05), learnt a lot about self-sacrificial spirituality of “ma-ichi-monji”; the sealed lips of Japanese soldiers and he could successfully rebuilt the state of Israel today. Let us hope the spirituality of Japanese shine like the rays of rising Sun which pierce clouds that bring the Biblical prophesies to our time.
